April Sportfishing

Between the wind and the rain over the last couple of days I’ve not had a chance toget out on the water but I’m looking forward to the great weather and calm seas that are forecasted for Sunday. Our current game plan is to hit the nearshore wrecks for some of the red hot sheepshead action that we’ve been experiencing lately; however, if the forecast keeps trending toward calms seas I’m hoping my clients for the day will be up for a Gulf Stream run and a little wahoo and tuna hunting. Either way we’ll have a great time.
If you are in the Bluffton and Hilton Head area on Saturday stop by Southern Drawl Outfitters for their customer appreciation day. I’ll be there doing offshore bait and lure rigging demonstrations. Other local captains and guides will also be there to share some tips and techniques as well.
Open dates, especially weekends, are beginning to book up fast for Gulf StreamTrolling and cobia fishing. Don’t wait too late and miss your chance to get in on these awesome fisheries!
Here’s a picture of a happy crew from a recent sheepshead trip. We ended up catching around 35 sheepshead (19 keepers) and a couple of black drum that day. The action should continue through April!
